INSPIRATIONAL QUOTES BY GEORGE W. BUSH

by sonal sharma

George Walker Bush (born July 6, 1946) is an American politician who served as the 43rd President of the United States from 2001 to 2009. He was also the  46th Governor of Texas from 1995 to 2000. After graduating from Yale University in 1968 and Harvard Business School in 1975, he worked in the oil industry.

The terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the global war on terror, the war in Iraq, and the economic downtown of 2008 financial crisis  are just some of the major events that Bush had to contend with during his time in office. At different times, President Bush was both the most popular president and one of the least popular presidents in American history. His administration sparked both passionate defenders and vehement critics. His Presidency (2001–2009) will continue to be studied and debated for years to come.

Here are some inspirational quotes by him:-

1.ON AMERICA

America will never run… And we will always be grateful that liberty has found such brave defenders.

2.ON HISTORY

History is moving, and it will tend toward hope or tend toward tragedy.

3.ON WEAKNESS

If America shows weakness and uncertainty, the world will drift toward tragedy. That will not happen on my watch.

4.ON UNITY

America has never been united by blood or birth or soil. We are bound by ideals that move us beyond our backgrounds, lift us above our interests and teach us what it means to be citizens.

5.ON THE HISTORY OF AMERICA

The peaceful transfer of authority is rare in history, yet common in our country. With a simple oath, we affirm old traditions and make new beginnings.

6.ON GOD

God is not on the side of any nation, yet we know He is on the side of justice. Our finest moments [as a nation] have come when we faithfully served the cause of justice for our own citizens, and for the people of other lands.

7.ON PEACE

As Americans, we want peace – we work and sacrifice for peace. But there can be no peace if our security depends on the will and whims of a ruthless and aggressive dictator. I’m not willing to stake one American life on trusting Saddam Hussein.

8.ON THE PAST

I think we agree, the past is over.

9.ON FREEDOM

I believe that freedom is the deepest need of every human soul.
