One such influential writer was Eric Arthur Blair better known by his pen name George Orwell. His works focussed on social injustice, opposing totalitarianism and supported democratic socialism. Best known for his novels Animal Farm and Nineteen Eighty- Four his works continue to influence political culture in Britain.
